Make air quality easier to see, track, and understand.

Air Quality Visibility & Trends

For supported connected units, the Alen app can help districts move beyond simply knowing whether a purifier is plugged in. Air quality visibility can help facilities teams understand current room conditions, review trends over time, and identify spaces that may need additional attention.

View Current Air Quality

See what is happening in a space right now.

For supported connected units, the app may show current air quality status from the device or connected air quality monitoring tools. This can help teams quickly understand whether a room appears normal or may need review.

  1. Open the Alen app
Start from the main dashboard or device list.

  2. Select a connected unit
Choose the purifier you want to review by campus, room, or device name.

  3. Review the current air quality status

  4. Look for rooms or buildings that may need follow-up

  5. Use the information to guide purifier settings, placement, or facilities review

Monitor Trends Over Time

One reading is helpful. Trends are more useful.

Air quality can change throughout the day based on room use, occupancy, outdoor conditions, cleaning schedules, ventilation, or other building factors. Where supported, trend visibility can help teams understand whether air quality concerns are one-time events or recurring patterns.

Teams can use trends to look for:

  • Changes during arrival, lunch, dismissal, or after-school programs

  • Rooms with recurring air quality changes

  • Spaces that may need purifier placement review

  • Buildings that may need additional facilities attention

  • Patterns during wildfire smoke, high pollen, construction, or other outdoor air events

  • Whether purifier use or scheduling changes appear to improve conditions

Compare Spaces and Conditions

Use visibility to decide where to focus first.

Districts often have limited facilities time. Air quality visibility can help teams prioritize which rooms, buildings, or campuses may need closer review. Where available, comparing indoor and outdoor conditions can also help teams understand whether changes may be tied to outdoor air events or building-specific conditions.

Spaces Worth Comparing First

Nurse offices

Special education rooms

High-occupancy classrooms

Older buildings or rooms with known ventilation concerns

Turn Air Quality Data Into Action

Use visibility to support better facilities decisions.

Air quality data does not replace facilities expertise, but it can help guide better questions and faster follow-up. This gives facilities teams a clearer starting point when deciding where to investigate, where to adjust purifier use, and where broader building review may be helpful.

Air quality visibility can support conversations around:

  • Purifier placement

  • Scheduling and runtime

  • Filter replacement timing

  • Room-level concerns

  • Ventilation review

  • HVAC support

  • District-level indoor air quality planning

When to ask Alen for help...

Need help reviewing air quality visibility across your district?

This can be especially helpful if your district:

  • Wants to establish a baseline for indoor air quality

  • Sees recurring air-quality changes in certain rooms

  • Wants to compare conditions across classrooms or campuses

  • Experiences wildfire smoke, pollen, construction, or other outdoor-air events

  • Wants to understand whether scheduling or purifier use is improving conditions

  • Has rooms with recurring ventilation or air-quality concerns

  • Wants to connect portable HEPA data with broader HVAC or facilities planning
